New agreement through 2024

Tradition does not prohibit change! Although A.S.O. is attached to the history of the events it organises, A.S.O. also remains open to change in order to give them a fresh look. It is one of the aspects taken into account when renewing the partnership agreements concluded with the Province of Liège and the Royal Cyclist’s Pesant Club Liégeois, especially concerning the finish line of Liège-Bastogne-Liège. After 27 editions finishing in the hills of Ans, in the outskirts of Liège, the finish line of Liège-Bastogne-Liège will now be in the heart of Liège, on a site answering the desire to modify the characteristics of the final metres of the race.

The new agreement also concerns the organization of the Flèche Wallonne. The extension provides that the finish line will remain at the top of the Mur de Huy for the foreseeable future, with varying start cities. The start of the 2019 edition is already set in the town of Ans.
